Role Overview
ACE Group is seeking an experienced Technical Advisor in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) to provide strategic and technical leadership across maternal and child health programs. The ideal candidate is a licensed Obstetrician & Gynecologist or Pediatrician with strong experience in public health, health systems strengthening, and program implementation within low- and middle-income settings.
The Technical Advisor will guide evidence-based program design, support implementation quality, and ensure alignment with global best practices while remaining responsive to local context.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Advisory
- Provide expert technical guidance on maternal, newborn, and child health interventions, policies, and best practices.
- Support the design and adaptation of MNCH programs aligned with national and global standards (WHO, UNICEF, national guidelines).
- Serve as a subject-matter expert across ACE Group’s MNCH portfolio.
Program Design & Implementation
- Contribute to the development of proposals, concept notes, and technical frameworks for MNCH projects.
- Support implementation teams to ensure clinical soundness, feasibility, and quality of care.
- Advise on service delivery models, referral systems, quality improvement, and continuum of care approaches.
Research, Monitoring & Learning
- Provide technical oversight for MNCH-related research, learning agendas, and evaluations.
- Support the development and review of indicators, data collection tools, and learning outputs.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and policyrelevant insights.
Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building
- Engage with government agencies, donors, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders.
- Support capacity strengthening for health workers and implementing partners through training, mentorship, and technical workshops.
- Contribute to policy dialogues and technical working groups at national or regional levels.
Knowledge Translation & Thought Leadership
- Review and contribute to technical reports, policy briefs, guidelines, and publications.
- Represent ACE Group in technical forums, meetings, and conferences as required.
- Support documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or Paediatrics.
- Current medical license and specialist certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience, including work in maternal and/or child health programs.
- Demonstrated experience in public health, development, or health systems strengthening.
- Strong understanding of MNCH challenges in African or low-resource settings.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience working with donors, NGOs, governments, or multilateral organizations.
- Familiarity with MERL frameworks and use of data for decision-making.
- Experience contributing to policy development or national health strategies.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working across multiple countries in Africa is an advantage.
