Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Part-Time IT Consultant with expertise in website design, development, and general IT support to assist our business in maintaining and improving our digital infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in web technologies, troubleshooting IT issues, and providing strategic IT recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Website Design & Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive and user-friendly websites
- Optimize website performance, security, and SEO
- Troubleshoot and fix website issues (e.g., broken links, slow loading, compatibility)
- Implement updates, plugins, and integrations (e.g., CMS, e-commerce, APIs)
- Ensure cross-browser and mobile compatibility.
General IT Support:
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist with IT infrastructure setup, maintenance, and upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems for staff (e.g., email, software, connectivity)
- Recommend and implement security best practices (e.g., backups, firewalls, antivirus)
- Assist with cloud services (Microsoft 365, AWS, etc.)
Consulting & Strategy:
- Evaluate current IT systems and recommend improvements.
- Advise on cost-effective technology solutions for business needs.
- Assist in digital transformation initiatives (e.g., automation, workflow improvements).
- Stay updated with emerging IT trends and cybersecurity threats
Qualifications & Competencies
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science and other related courses
- Certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Google IT Support, Web Development) are a plus
- Proven experience in website design & development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Shopify, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of IT troubleshooting (hardware, software, networks)
- Familiarity with web hosting, domain management, and security
- Experience with SEO, analytics (Google Analytics), and UX best practices
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles (data protection, firewalls, encryption)
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
