Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Programs Lead to spearhead our program initiatives and ensure the successful delivery of impactful public health projects. Reporting to the Programs Director, the Programs Lead will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs aimed at addressing health inequities in low- and middle-income settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Strategy and Design: Lead the development and refinement of program strategies that align with our mission, incorporating research, innovation, and equity-focused approaches to address structural inequities in healthcare systems.
- Implementation Oversight: Manage the end-to-end execution of programs, including resource allocation, timeline management, and coordination across services like strategy & systems design, digital innovation, and knowledge translation.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Design and implement robust M&E frameworks to track program progress, measure impact on health outcomes, and ensure data-driven adjustments for maximum effectiveness in low-resource environments.
- Partnership and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with communities, policymakers, partners, and funders to co-create and scale interventions, policies, and products that promote health equity.
- Team Leadership and Capacity Building: Guide and mentor program teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, creativity, and integrity while providing training on best practices in public health program management.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and mitigate program risks, ensuring adherence to ethical standards, donor requirements, and regulatory guidelines in multi-country operations.
- Innovation and Knowledge Translation: Integrate digital tools and innovative methods into programs, and facilitate the translation of insights into actionable knowledge products for stakeholders.
- Reporting and Impact Assessment: Prepare comprehensive reports on program performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned to inform future initiatives and demonstrate enduring impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree (e.g., MPH, MSc in Public health) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, ideally in consulting, non-profit, or public health sectors focused on low- and middle-income countries.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing health programs, including grant-funded projects with international donors
- Experience working in Africa or similar contexts, with familiarity in areas like health systems strengthening and equity-driven interventions.
