POSITION OBJECTIVE
ACE Group seeks a Senior Programs Analyst to lead defined workstreams in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of its public health programs and strategic initiatives in Kano and across Nigeria. Reporting to the Senior Associate, Programs, the successful candidate will provide advanced technical and analytical leadership across research, program implementation, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement, while supervising junior staff and ensuring the quality of outputs driving organizational learning and impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the execution of one or more workstreams from planning through implementation, monitoring, and reporting
- Structure and lead literature reviews, desk research, and evidence synthesis to inform program design and technical strategy
- Lead the preparation of technical deliverables, including proposals, reports, presentations, briefs, and knowledge products, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Oversee project monitoring, including work plans, trackers, implementation records, and performance data across workstreams
- Analyze and synthesize complex program and research data, breaking down problems into structured, evidence-based recommendations
- Review and quality-assure data, analysis, and reporting produced by Analysts and Officers, providing constructive feedback
- Lead and coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements, including logistics and follow-up
- Coach and supervise junior team members, building their technical and professional capacity
- Track program progress against agreed indicators and escalate risks or delays to team lead
- Contribute to quality-check periodic reports, implementation updates, and client/donor communications
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, partners, consultants, and other stakeholders
- Represent ACE confidently in client, partner, and donor discussions and meetings
- Support Associates and Senior Associates in project planning, budgeting and proposal development
- Uphold data quality, confidentiality, and ACE’s professional standards across all workstreams
- Provide technical, operational, and strategic support for organizational priorities and other assignments as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an advantage)
- 4–6 years of relevant work experience in health research, public health programs, development, or consulting, including some supervisory or workstream leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in clinical research, implementation science, or maternal, newborn, and child health is an advantage
- Track record of independently structuring and executing moderately complex analyses and research activities
- Strong understanding of health systems strengthening, research administration, or evidence-to-policy work
- Familiarity with the Nigerian health system and experience working with academic, government, or non-profit institutions
- Willingness to travel within Kano State and surrounding areas as required by project needs

- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, teams, and deadlines simultaneously
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data tools required
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure complex issues into actionable solutions
- Demonstrated team leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior staff
- High level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive institutional, client, and research information
